 | You will find that my poetic images evoke the mysterious quality that lies
just below the surface of Louisiana's rich landscapes and unique waterways. My
photography portrays a "southern" feeling that reflects the sultry and romantic
mood that is unique to Louisiana.
The enchantment, mystique and beauty of Louisiana has created within me the desire
to explore, experience and to photograph as much of her as I possibly can, and my work
flows gently from one area to another area. |
 | Louisiana is like a pulsating body, being fed by the waterways
flowing in and round her in much the same way the sight, sound and smell flow in and
around me. It is in the bayous, swamps, marshes, and culture that my heart
lies...right along with hers. |
Joyce B. Linde Biography
I was born in Madera, California and traveled my way to Louisiana
through Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Nebraska. When my parents settled in Lake
Arthur, Louisiana, I soon became fascinated with the culture and the landscape of
Louisiana. My education in the art of photography goes far beyond my Bachelor of
Fine Arts degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. My master study has
continued at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center, the Maine Photographic Workshops, and the Art
New England Center in Vermont. My advance studies have been with Roger Heinen, Joyce
Neimanas, Tom Carabashi, Shelby Adams, Maggie Stebber, Elizabeth Opalenik, and Jane
Tuckerman.
